📧 How to Get Newsletters Delivered to Your Primary Inbox
If our emails are landing in your "Promotions" or "Updates" tab, you can easily tell Gmail to place them in your "Primary" inbox from now on. Choose your device below:
💻 On a Computer (Web Browser)
Follow these steps to move our newsletter to your Primary inbox:
- Open your Gmail inbox in your web browser.
- Click the Promotions tab at the top of your email list.
- Check the checkbox next to the newsletter email.

Right-click on the email and select "Move to tab" then "Primary".

Look for a confirmation prompt that says: "Do you want to do this for future messages from this sender?"
- Click Yes or OK.
📱 On the Gmail Mobile App (iOS & Android)
You can achieve the same result using the menu options in the app:
- Open the Gmail app.
- Open the email from us.
- Tap the three vertical dots menu (more options icon) usually found in the top-right corner.
- Tap Move to.
- Select Primary.
Alternative: Add Us to Your Contacts
Adding our email address to your Google Contacts helps signal to Gmail that your emails are important and desired, improving delivery to the primary inbox.
- Open an email from us in Gmail.
- Hover over our sender name/email address (The Band Plan Newsletter <newsletter@thebandplan.com>).
- Click the Add to Contacts icon that appears (it looks like a small person with a + symbol).
Why This Matters
Gmail uses machine learning to categorize emails. When you move our newsletters to Primary or add us to your contacts, you're teaching Gmail that these emails are important to you. This helps ensure:
